VISION:
Summer Academy has been ministering to children and families in the Bay Area for the past 8 years. The program began with the hope of meeting the needs of working parents who desire to place their children in a safe and enriching summer program.

Summer Academy is a special 6 week program (with the option to register for one 3-week session) guided by the expertise of the Pastors at Living Word Christian Center. This program is specially designed to provide your children with the opportunity to enjoy their summer, improve academically, build lasting friendships, and develop necessary social skills through working and studying with fellow classmates. Summer Academy will also consist of exciting field trips and athletic activities that will enhance your child’s learning experience by providing them with plenty of time to have fun with their friends. Your children will be educated with the latest interactive educational DVD technology, along with the McGraw-Hill Spectrum Series workbooks. Your children will be in a safe environment where they will be nurtured through daily devotions, songs, and prayers.

In short, this program is dedicated to serving the children and their families by providing them with a safe and productive summer and to facilitate a learning and engaging atmosphere for parents to send their children.

LIFE TRANSFORMATION:
Through the dedication and love of the staff over the children, our goal is to provide a safe environment and program that will enrich the life of each student, both academically and spiritually - we seek Life Transformation.

LASTING RELATIONSHIPS:
God has been faithful through the years and has opened up the opportunity to minister to larger groups of students each summer, many of them returning students who have developed lasting relationships with the staff.

YOUR PART:
Please know that you are an important part of what Summer Academy strives to do. We ask you to encourage your student to try their best with their classwork and homework during the summer. Your support is key to the success of Summer Academy. We hope you will join us this summer!

WHEN:
Session 1: June 21st - July 9th, 2010 (3 weeks)
Session 2: July 12th - July 30th, 2010 (3 weeks)

9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Extended care for early arrivals (7:30-9 am) and extended stay (4:00-5:30 pm) is available for an additional fee

WHERE: Living Word Christian Center 1494 California Circle Milpitas, CA 95035
WHO: Children entering 1st-6th grade in Fall 2010 | Maximum registration is 150 students

COST: (Tuition per session/child)
$400 per session/child: Early Registration (Register by April 15th)
$425 per session/child: Regular Registration (Register between April 16th to May 31st)
$450 per session/child: Late Registration (Register between June 1st to June 12th)

Pastoral and sibling discounts are available.

Field Trips + Activities:
Field Trips included in the past: Silliman Aquatic Center, Raging Waters, Blackberry Farm, San Jose Tech Museum and many other places that are appropriate for each of our age groups
Students must bring their own sack-lunch for all the Field Trip days and the Activity days.

SHUTTLE SERVICE:
Our SHUTTLE SERVICE is back!
We will be providing Shuttle Services in Cupertino, South San Jose, and Pleasanton. More details will be provided at the Parent Orientation.
